Brief: When Better Collective wanted to gain exposure for their newly launched odds comparison service SmartBets, they turned to Square in the Air to create regular ‘Statistical Analysis’ blogs, which would then be sent out to online media.

Result: The bi-weekly blogs gained coverage across a number of major football titles, including the Sun, Mirror, Mail Online and the Star. Using data from Opta, as well as research from SITA, the stats focused pieces aimed to dig a little deeper into major football stories – with findings such as Claudio Bravo being bottom of the pile for Premier League keepers for certain statistics, and that Rio Ferdinand would be worth almost £114 million in the current market.

The second story certainly seemed to go down well with Ferdinand himself, who tweeted a graphic from the story to his over 8 million followers, which was then also shared by Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker too.
