June saw SITA’s B2C team producing content and coverage for a host of different clients, as Senior Account Manager Rob Ellis reports.

Euros Fever

Excitement ahead of the Euro 2024 kick off brought the opportunity to preview the Golden Boot race for William Hill.

Working with the William Hill traders and Square in the Air design team, we revealed which star players were garnering the most support in the top goalscorer market, with some unexpected results.

Not only was the release picked up by The Sun, they also used the graphic put together by our in-house design team.

Royal Ascot

Five fabulous days of racing from Royal Ascot kept the B2C team busy in June.

It’s Flat racing’s biggest betting week of the year, so a very important time for a number of our clients.

Based in the press room, we were serving media with the latest betting news stories and responding to queries, drafting daily columns for London’s City A.M. newspaper, and also capturing content to publish across our clients’ social media platforms.

One of our best-performing posts of the week came on @WorldPool’s X account, which saw Auguste Rodin having a well-earned drink after his win.

The team also had sharpen up their handwriting, as they handled the World Pool Moment of the Day cheque presentation (see attached), from sorting the cheque, liaising with talent and lining up broadcasters Sky Sports Racing.

We’ll be back at Ascot for King George Day before heading to Glorious Goodwood – racing never stops!

Taylor Swift effect

To provide data-driven coverage for BetVictor Canada, the team thought outside the box to see what may appeal to a North American audience this month.

Using social media analytics, we put together a ranking of all 32 NFL teams to determine which had the largest percentage of female followers.

The data appeared to go against the grain and suggest that despite Taylor Swift’s association with the team, Super Bowl winners Kansas City Chiefs were only ranked joint-10th.

A release was pitched to journalists across the pond with the New York Post publishing both the data and spokesperson quotes, providing notable coverage for BetVictor.

Nvidia news

Starting in March, the B2C team began pushing commentary for Stocklytics, with the focus primarily on the world of cryptocurrencies and meme stocks.

Initially, it was a hard space to infiltrate but over the course of the past few weeks, we've received coverage from quotes on Bitcoin's performance and its correlation with US interest rates, Ethereum, Memecoins and what the result of the US presidential election means for the future of cryptocurrencies.

Given the ever-changing environment, we've needed to stay clued up on the volatile markets and comment on the news accordingly, to get the best results for our client.

Last month, we delved into the Nvidia craze, with the software company having tripled in value in 2023, and doubling again in May.

Thanks to outreach to various journalists, the team achieved 35 pieces of coverage, most notably from The Guardian and CNN.

And finally…

Paddy Crossan was the victor in the latest B2C quiz night thanks to an exemplary knowledge of European beer, England’s squad selection and Euros trivia in Tom Sweetman’s devilishly tricky range of questions.
