First question

Who are you and what is your role?

I’m Aidan Cliff and I’m the definition of a ‘Jack of all trades’. I’m an Account Manager on SITA’s B2B team and lead many of our clients’ streaming activities along with global affiliate opportunities. I also host SITA’s Sneak Peek At videos. If you passed me a broom I’d sweep the floor too!

Second question

What is the biggest misconception about the affiliate/streaming community?

Ooooooh, juicy! I guess one of the biggest misconceptions is that you can effectively market yourself today while ignoring these key elements of digital marketing. It’s 2023 and things have changed! If you look at other sectors, from beauty to gaming and everything in between, leveraging the reach, influence and unique opportunities available via affiliates and streamers can completely change a brand’s image. They are called influencers for a reason and using these correctly can help thousands of people to understand your game better, engage with content and fundamentally boost player numbers. It can be a minefield out there and it’s difficult to know where best to get started, which is why our clients choose to use my expertise in this sector.

Third question

You have one of the most interesting career backgrounds, can you give us a little highlight of what you have done over the years?

Doctor Cliff will see you now! Believe it or not, I used to work in trichology (the study of the hair and scalp) before iGaming which nobody ever expects. If you wanted a hair transplant, I was the go-to guy! I’ve also lived and worked in South Africa as an operations manager for a multinational life insurance company and was even a farmer for a while too - working on a dairy farm and literally shovelling you know what! I was a shopkeeper as well for a bit - you name it, I’ve done it.

Fourth question

One of these jobs was streaming slots, what's the biggest win you’ve ever had streaming?

It’s not something our clients are aware of, as it doesn’t really come up in conversation that often, but for a while, I was one of the most-watched UK slot streamers on Twitch. Of course, I had my fair share of losses but equally some truly big hits. I landed a max win on Pragmatic Play’s Fruit Party along with countless wins on Push Gaming’s Jammin’ Jars, while Wazdan’s Power Of The Gods series was also good to me. I do pinch myself sometimes that I now get to work and market the titles of these providers. I’d argue there are very few people in the world who have played slots as long as I have, given that I was streaming for multiple hours, seven days a week!

Fifth question

We hear that you are super into your fancy dress and have a whole wardrobe full of costumes, which has been your best outfit?

I have been exposed! There is a reason behind it. A long time ago during my streaming days, I was marketing countless slot titles to my audience and a lot of providers would have me dress up as characters from their games or send merch for me to wear. Honestly, the things I would do online to assist in the promotion of clients’ games were at times ridiculous but without a doubt entertaining and it really did engage my audience.

Sixth question

A little birdy told me you're a huge plant dad. How many do you have? Let’s see your favourite!

It’s like choosing my favourite child! Winter hasn’t been kind on the forest that I am slowly turning my house into. However, I do have a golden dragon tree that may or may not go by the name ‘Dave’ that I’m immensely proud of (yes, they all have names). I currently have 42 in total!

Final Question

You love to explore - if I gave you a ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Hobbiton. Is it even a real place? I’m honestly not sure, but I have seen pictures of New Zealand and as a proud nerd and lover of all things Tolkien, going to where The Lord of the Rings films were shot would be amazing! If not there, then I would probably take a very quick trip to my bed for a nap, haha!
