Overview
Inspired, a leading B2B company specialising in slot game development, tasked us with translating and redesigning a selection of their game titles into Portuguese following a new licence for the Brazilian market. This project required attention to detail from a brand consistency point of view as we were challenged to recreate artwork with a limited library of editable assets.
Client Background
Inspired provides a diverse portfolio of content, technology, and services for the regulated gaming, betting, and lottery industries across multiple platforms. Operating in 35 jurisdictions worldwide, their gaming systems and digital products are used in over 50,000 gaming machines and 170+ online platforms.
Some of their games we translated included: Big Fishing Fortune, Big Spin Bonus, Cops n Robbers Big Money, Golden Winner, Happy Fortune Dragon, Piggy Bandits and Big Piggy Bank.
Project Execution & Strategy
With over twenty game titles requiring translation across various sizes, organisation and file management were essential to the success of a project in such a short time span. We began by discussing the highest priority assets with the client and organising them in three separate batches with accompanying delivery dates for each.
Once this was agreed upon we built template files which contained artboards for all thumbnail sizes required in one file, this meant that once we nailed the creation of the game logos we were able to re-organise those with their background and character layers to ensure a flexible and compelling design for each thumbnail ratio.
The core challenge was recreating logos from scratch in cases where smart objects were unavailable. To overcome this and achieve a seamless recreation, we sourced and matched fonts, recreated 3D typography, integrated game assets (such as character artwork) and ensured visual consistency, so the Portuguese logos mirrored the original English versions as closely as possible.
Outcome & Results
The project and turnaround times were integral to Inspired’s expansion into Brazil, allowing them to market their games effectively in the region. We completed the translations of nearly 35 games across 600 different thumbnails in just short of 30 days.
