First question

Who are you and what is your role?

I’m Alex, Midweight Brand Designer at Square in the Air. My role is to help with the creative development of projects and maintaining brand continuity when delivering the outcome of projects.

Second question

Take us through what your day-to-day looks like, what you work on and how you get your creative juices flowing.

My day-to-day schedule covers a variety of projects, particularly accounts that focus on horse racing such as Hong Kong Jockey Club, ThoroughBid and Star Sports. I gain inspiration from a variety of sources such as Brand New, Awwwards, Dribbble and the Racing Post.

Third question

You’re one of many ‘Gooners’ at Square in the Air - if you could sign any three players for Arsenal in the summer, who would you pick and why?

With the Champions League all but confirmed, I think this will be a massive help to acquiring some of the best talent that Europe has to offer. My top three targets would be Declan Rice from West Ham, Jonathan David from Lille and Marquinhos from PSG.

Declan Rice to sit alongside Thomas Partey in the heart of the midfield. I still feel we are short on quality in that area when Partey is not playing, so Declan would fill that role perfectly.

Jonathan David is one of the top scorers in Ligue 1 this season. Eddie Nketiah has done a good job when filling in for Jesus however, I believe we need someone who is more clinical in front of goal.

Marquinhos… need I say more. World Cup Winner, Copa America Winner and Ligue 1 winner. There’s a massive drop off in quality from our current centre-backs of Saliba and Gabriel and I think his leadership and winning mentality would be a massive boost for our defence.

Fourth question

You’re set up on the beautiful south coast of Kent, where is your favourite place to go and why would you recommend it?

Whitstable - One of many locations on the south coast of Kent that has become very popular in the last five to ten years. This small town has bags of character, with an amazing variety of independent shops and plenty of traditional British pubs. Don’t forget Whitstable Bay where they source all their fish and Oysters.

Fifth question

In your university days you won the prestigious D&AD New Blood Awards - tell us about your project and how that experience was.

Where do I start… Myself and my good friend Edoardo created a digital platform for children to learn about menstruation. Mixing an approachable character with easy to understand language and necessary science vocabulary, Po (the character) helps boys and girls talk about this sensitive subject that is still a taboo all over the world. The app allows children to learn at their own pace, making it adaptable to any situation, while keeping a learning standard throughout. Po is also available as a printed booklet for developing countries and schools with no access to digital devices. I think it’s safe to say this was the cherry on top of the cake to conclude my university experience.

First question

In your website bio you mention you’re ticking off the UK’s best race tracks - where have you been so far and where is next on your list?

So far I have visited Cheltenham and Lingfield. Next on my list is Aintree and Ascot.

Seventh question

If you were to travel around the world with one celebrity, who would it be and why?

I think it would have to be with Peter Kay, my all-time favourite comedian. I don’t think we would run out of jokes to be fair.

Final Question

You love your locally brewed beer - if you were to brew one yourself, what would you name it and why?

I would probably name it the ‘Cannon’ relating back to my boyhood club Arsenal.
