First question
Who are you and what is your role?
I’m Ellen, Creative Director here at Square in the Air. My main responsibility is overseeing and leading on all creative output for our clients and projects.
Second question
Tell us about the design offering at SITA…
Some people may not know but Square in the Air now offer a fully comprehensive and unique range of design services to amplify various brands aesthetics and campaigns. We have specialised members of our team to cover a wide range of services that include brand projects, animation and video production, website design and building services, re-active social graphics and advertising campaigns - to name just a few! We’re currently working on some very exciting campaigns relating to lots of upcoming events in 2023.

Third question
You’ve just bought your first home, what’re your plans?
Being a designer, how things look is VERY important.
I’ve only had a week or so in my new gaff but I’m very excited to get some renovation underway as we enter the dark cold winter months. I’ve been collecting inspiration over the past few months on Pinterest (pictured below) so I have a clear vision of how I want everything to look and I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty when it comes to DIY. I have big plans of tiling my own floors for example but don’t hold me to that!

Fourth question
You’re obsessed by dogs. Dream dog and why?
If anyone follows me on Instagram you’ll know I’m obsessed by dogs, on Instagram stories I document the coolest dogs in our WeWork, on the tubes, trains and even the hilarious videos of them on TikTok. I look forward to you finding my #DOGCAM story highlights folder…
On that note, I’m only weeks away of getting my first dog of my own, a Hungarian Vizsla born in November. I fell in love with the breed when I was young and now that I have my own home it’s finally time! Their strong stance and majestic ginger coats are just to die for and I cannot wait for our future adventures together - name still very much TBC, but my current favourites are Oakley or Barley.

Fifth question
You’ve just got back from Las Vegas, tell us about your time there?
Vegas Vegas Vegas. It’s now the fourth time we’ve been and it never gets old! As you could imagine going every year means we’re no longer tourists and go there primarily to gamble. It’s a good job I work in gambling right?
I won my first live poker tournament which was a pretty unique feeling as you can imagine, and I did it in Bally’s brand new poker room that only opened a few days before we arrived. Best of all I did it drunk. I can tell you now there’s no better feeling than sipping vodka pineapple’s as you win $550, then stumbling back to the Venetian at 2am.
Sixth question
You play poker - how did you get into that?
I actually learnt how to play at primary school. I can’t quite remember how it came about but me and a few friends ended up playing quite often and as soon as I hit 18 I opened an account and never looked back. Since then I’ve played in some big events such as the European Poker Tour and the Student Poker Championships where I actually placed 10th out of 917 entries which was my biggest achievement to date.
I love the adrenaline involved with it and cannot put into words the feeling of bluffing into your opponent and your heart is beating out your chest but you have to keep as calm as possible.
Seventh question
Favourite poker hand?
Every poker player has a favourite hand. I have a couple but my favourite is J9 of clubs.
Eight question
You have an entry to the 2023 London Marathon right?
I had a chance to run the London Marathon last October, however I sadly was injured just 7 weeks out from the event. After 3 months off we seem to be on the mend and I’m now back on the list for 2023’s running and raising money for the incredible Make A Wish charity - obligatory request for any sponsors here!

Final Question
What’s your guilty pleasure?
The easiest question of them all. I’m an avid fan of Eastenders, ever since I was little. My dedication to the show is often utilised by the B2C team when they’re creating their Christmas special odds for clients. Team Mick and Linda!
