First question
Who are you and what is your role?
I’m an Account Manager on Square in the Air’s B2B team. I help with the day-to-day running of accounts, which involves creating content for clients, preparing for events and product launches, and following important industry updates. I take pride in helping my clients raise their profile, share valuable insights and stay on the pulse of our constantly evolving sector.
Second question
So, you’re a runner who is currently training for marathon no.2 and you’re also part of a run club. Why do you love it so much?
I’d say I’m more of a back-of-the pack jogger than a runner – but yes, I do love it! It’s the best way to explore a new place, the ultimate stress buster and helps you stay physically and mentally strong. I’ve also met so many friends through run club (and it gives me an excuse for a Wednesday evening pint).
Third question
What is the most valuable career advice you’ve been given?
This came from my dad. The advice was to never give up when things get tough - always find a way. I try to remember this at work. Sometimes something might feel daunting or as if there are many barriers in the way of success, but there’s almost always a solution. You just need to look at the challenge from a different angle or take an alternative approach.
Fourth question
Which is your favourite music act that you’ve seen live?
Elton John at Glastonbury last year was pretty special! Watching his final UK performance at the Pyramid Stage with more than 120,000 other people was amazing. It’s a concert I’ll never forget.
Fifth question
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a vet for years. I had a rabbit called Lennie and a guinea pig called Pepper. I even subscribed to the RSPCA ‘Animal Action’ mag to learn everything about pets. Sadly, my career dreams came crashing down when I saw a cow giving birth on TV and realised it wasn’t all fluffy bunnies and puppy cuddles.
Sixth question
What’s the ‘nerdiest’ thing about you?
The nerdiest thing about me at the moment is my new interest in pickling. I currently only have a selection of jars and a long Instagram Reels viewing history to show for it, but ask me again at Christmas and you might land yourself some miscellaneous pickled treats.
Seventh question
What's one thing you’ve always wanted to learn or try but haven’t had the chance to yet?
I've always wanted to give scuba diving a go! In the not too distant future many of the world's most beautiful reefs will be gone and I want to experience the magic before then.
Eight question
You are a proud northern woman, where is the best spot to eat in Manchester?
This would have to be Ornella's. It's a tiny Italian in Denton, on the outskirts of Manchester. You have to get on the waiting list about six months before, but it is so worth it. Highly recommend! Or, if you're making a last-minute visit for a weekend, Bundobust is also pretty good for veggie Indian street food and great beer.
Final Question
If you could relive any day of your life, which one would it be and why?
I'm sure this will cause some eye rolling but if I could relive the Eras Tour again, that would be very special. It was an amazing day and feels like a piece of history I'll never forget. I'm not a diehard Swiftie but she puts on an amazing show!
